How To Replace Patio Sling Fabric

Patio furniture is a great way to relax and enjoy the outdoors. However, over time, the fabric on your patio furniture can become faded, torn, or stained. If this happens, you don't have to replace the entire piece of furniture. You can simply replace the fabric.

Replacing patio sling fabric is a relatively easy project that can be completed in a few hours. Here are the steps on how to do it:

1. Gather your materials.

You will need the following materials to replace the fabric on your patio furniture:

  • New patio sling fabric
  • Scissors
  • Measuring tape
  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • Drill
  • 1/8-inch drill bit
  • Screw eyes
  • Bungee cord

2. Remove the old fabric.

First, you need to remove the old fabric from your patio furniture. To do this, start by removing the screws that hold the fabric in place. Once the screws are removed, you can carefully pull the old fabric off of the furniture.

3. Measure and cut the new fabric.

Next, you need to measure and cut the new fabric. To do this, lay the old fabric on top of the new fabric and trace around it. Add 2 inches to all sides of the traced line to allow for seams. Once you have traced the fabric, cut it out.

4. Attach the new fabric.

Now, you need to attach the new fabric to the patio furniture. To do this, start by drilling 1/8-inch holes around the perimeter of the furniture frame. The holes should be spaced about 6 inches apart.

Once the holes are drilled, you can insert the screw eyes into the holes. Then, you can attach the bungee cord to the screw eyes. To do this, simply loop the bungee cord through the screw eye and tie it off.

Once the bungee cord is attached, you can stretch the fabric over the furniture frame. Start by attaching the fabric to the screw eyes at the corners of the furniture. Then, work your way around the perimeter of the furniture, attaching the fabric to the screw eyes as you go.

5. Trim the excess fabric.

Once the fabric is attached, you can trim the excess fabric. To do this, simply cut the fabric around the perimeter of the furniture frame, leaving about 1 inch of fabric beyond the frame.

6. Enjoy your new patio furniture!

Now that you have replaced the fabric on your patio furniture, you can enjoy it for years to come. Just be sure to clean the fabric regularly to keep it looking its best.
